PARC Open Drift Saturday

Posted by Andrew in News

This Saturday is the last PARC drift event of the year! I'll be driving the White Rabbit so be sure to stop by and say hi! I've already recieved several ridealong requests so if you're interested let me know via email or Facebook and I'll see what I can do. For more event info, click here.

The above video is Hybrid's latest from the last PARC event. It was featured on the Formula Drift blog and of course the Hybrid blog! The Hybrid team will be filming this event as well, so be sure to bring it!

2012 InfoGraphic

andrew coomes ajc drift ajcdrift drifting infographic graphic visual data impressions marketing visually visual.ly graph information numbers video spectators formula drift fd

This year I've decided to make a visual data representation for people to enjoy instead of just throwing out raw numbers and percentages. I just finished this basic infographic in preparation for my 2012 season. The spectator numbers are based on what I know of FD's past numbers and trends. I'll be using these graphics in my 2012 driver package, coming soon!

As PSI has recently said, while many call this the off-season, we're calling it the ON-season. It's time to put driver packages together, talk to sponsors and get reppin!

VIDEO: 2011 Pre-Season Testing

Posted by Andrew in News

We took this video in early 2011 during pre-season testing. We had recently installed some new suspension components and I was testing them out before heading up to Evergreen Speedway for ProAm Round 1. They worked great!

2011 - The End Is Near

Posted by Andrew in News

irwindale ajc drift andrew coomes title fight october 2011 round 7 formula drift proam all stars

The 2011 season is coming to a close. The top drivers in FD are competing this weekend for the championship title, and Evergreen Drift wrapped up it's season last month. This weekend is the official send off for drifting in 2011. The stage is set at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, for Pro and newly licensed ProAm drivers alike. The ProAm National Championship event has been replaced by the inaugural ProAm All Stars, still held in tandem with Formula Drift's final round.

Although I won my Formula Drift license this year, I will not be driving at ProAm All Stars this weekend. The parts we needed were delayed and there was no way to get the car working and down to Irwindale in time for the event. I wish all competitors the best of luck and look forward to catching the action on livestream (hopefully they post a link soon, I can't seem to find it!)

Left to right: David Wheaton, Myself, Nikolay Konstantinov and David Nedelcu came together as team "Flying V" in the Biggerfoot Bash Team Tandem competition!

Our V8s roared throughout the corners as we followed each other in a tandem train.

Once we got comfortable we were able to push it and get really close. At the end of the day we took the #3 spot on the podium!

ProAm Round 5 didn't go as planned; before making a single pass my transmission gave out and both of my rear axles broke, ending the day for the White Rabbit. Though I was pretty well off in the standings, I wasn't willing to end it like that; luckily Marc Andre let me qualify with his beautiful Midnighters' S14.5!

The car felt good after a few doughnuts in the burnout area, but I wasn't going to risk Marc's ride on the bank so I only drifted the infield.

While I didn't drive Marc's car beyond qualifying, I was still able to collect enough points to finish 3rd for the season and earn my Formula Drift License!

Thanks to Gwag Designs and OMG Drift for the photos!
